Nîmes, Roman city

Built at the end of the 1st century AD, the Arena of Nîmes is the best preserved amphitheater from Roman times. Its harmonious proportions (133 meters long by 101 meters high) can accommodate up to 24,000 spectators. Gladiator fights have now given way to bullfighters, sportsmen and artists who perform every year in this place steeped in history.

Nîmes is an ancient Roman city which has preserved several buildings from this period in remarkable condition. These are essential when visiting Nîmes! I recommend you to

The careers of Junas

Classified among the "Small towns of character", the town of Sommières is located 38 km from our hotel. Near Sommières are the quarries of Junas. These ancient quarries were forged by more than 2000 years of rock extraction.
A short hike allows you to get into the heart of the site.
